These sliders are seriously good. I first shared this Sweet Ham and Swiss Sliders recipe several years ago, and it quickly became one of the most popular recipes on the site.

What I love about these sliders is how kid-friendly they are while still offering a bit of grown-up flavor. A sticky-sweet, savory butter glaze poured over ham and Swiss makes each bite indulgent and irresistible.

Should I use Hawaiian Rolls for Ham and Swiss Sliders?

Many recipes call for sweet Hawaiian rolls, but I prefer simple white dinner rolls. They’re less expensive, not overly sweet, and they let you control the sweetness by adding brown sugar to the glaze. That little caramelized touch is what makes these sliders extra special.

How Far Ahead Can I Make These Ham and Swiss Sliders?

These sliders are great for entertaining because you can assemble them through the glazing step, cover with foil, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking. That makes serving hot, melty sliders to a crowd really easy.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 12 sliders

Ingredients

  • 12 White Dinner Rolls cut in half
  • 24 slices Honey Ham
  • 8 slices Swiss Cheese cut in half
  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 ½ Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 8 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon poppy seeds
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Instructions

  • On a rimmed baking sheet place the bottom halves of the rolls. Top each with two folded slices of ham and half a slice of Swiss. Spread about 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise on each top-half of roll and set the tops in place. Arrange the rolls so they sit snugly together; this helps the sauce soak into every nook.
  • In a small bowl combine the Dijon mustard, melted butter, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, and brown sugar. Stir until smooth, then pour evenly over the assembled rolls. Cover with foil and refrigerate if preparing ahead.
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Bake covered with foil for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 5–10 minutes, until the tops are golden and the cheese is fully melted.
