Ingredients
For the lemonade:
- 4¼ cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 vanilla pod
- 5 lemons, juice
For the garnish
- 2 oz. ice cubes
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 handful fresh mint leaves
Instructions
Make a vanilla sugar syrup
- Pour the water into a saucepan and add the sugar. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Cut open the vanilla pod, scrape out the seeds and add both seeds and pod to the syrup.
- Let the syrup simmer gently for 5 minutes to infuse the vanilla, then remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
Cool and mix
- Remove the vanilla pod and strain the syrup if desired.
- Combine the cooled syrup with the freshly squeezed lemon juice in a large jug. Add extra water to reach your preferred strength.
