Christmas Chocolate Drop Cookies recipe

  • Dove® Promises® Dark Chocolate (one bag)
  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or toasted almonds)

How to make Christmas Chocolate Drop Cookies

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Line baking sheets with foil or parchment and set aside.
  2. Melt half the bag of Dove® Promises® Dark Chocolate with the butter in the top of a double boiler, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Roughly chop the remaining chocolate and reserve.
  3. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and light yellow, about 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the dry ingredients and the cooled melted chocolate, then beat for 1 minute. Fold in the chopped chocolate pieces and the chopped nuts.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cookies are just set. Transfer to a wire rack and cool for 5 minutes before removing from the baking sheets.

  • cup sugar
  • 2 cups chopped nuts, such as walnuts, pecans, or toasted almonds
