Microwave Scrambled Eggs Recipe
Cheesy scrambled eggs in the microwave sound unlikely, but they work—and they’re delicious. We were skeptical at first, but after trying it once we were hooked. The eggs cook quickly and you can easily adjust the doneness to your taste. Start with the base times and then add 15-second intervals until the texture is right. Add grated cheese at the end for melty, cheesy scrambled eggs.

How to Microwave Scrambled Eggs (Tips)
- Base timing: use the recipe times as a starting point. Stir between intervals and add about 15 seconds at a time until the eggs reach your preferred texture.
- Seasoning: salt the eggs well—proper seasoning makes a big difference.
- Cheese: any good melting cheese works. Cheddar or parmesan are favorites for flavor and meltability.
- Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe lid or plate to prevent splatter and retain steam.
- Adjust times based on your microwave and personal preference; details are provided in the recipe box below.
Microwave Safe Dishware
Use microwave-safe ceramic, glass, or silicone bowls. Avoid metal and non–microwave-safe plastics. If using plastic, make sure it’s labeled microwave safe.
